Why inspect a brand-new home?
New does not mean flawless. Construction crews work fast, subcontractors hand off between trades, and code inspectors only check minimums. An independent inspection routinely finds missing insulation, plumbing leaks, improper flashing, and electrical mistakes in brand-new homes.
When should I schedule?
Ideally twice: a pre-drywall inspection (before insulation and drywall) and a final inspection before your walk-through. You can also do just the final inspection if the build is already complete.
Will this upset my builder?
