When homes are prepared for sale, agents and sellers often clear the home of extra “stuff” so that the home presents well. This is a good start in being ready for a home inspection. Some times, however, the seller has too much stuff and leaves it in areas that need to be inspected. This will hamper a thorough inspection, as the inspector will not move items to inspect. One area this can effect is bathroom. If “stuff” is located in tubs or showers, the inspector cannot turn on faucets to test functionality.  Something that can improve this situation is for the buyer’s agent to be in contact with the selling agent to assure that these extra items are removed before the inspection.
